Irvine Veterans Day Run steps up for military

Runners and walkers descended on William R. Mason Regional Park on Saturday afternoon for the fourth annual National Veterans Day Run in Irvine, which offered a 5K (3.1-mile) race and a one-mile family walk/run.

Donations from the event will benefit Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to military veterans, recruits and troops deployed overseas.
