Newport-Mesa district to hold community meetings about school fences
Community members will get a chance to offer input and possibly join a committee focused on the design of fencing recently approved for three Newport-Mesa elementary schools.
Adams Elementary School will be the first to hold a community meeting to discuss the installation of a fence as well as redesign of the lobby area. Supt. Fred Navarro has suggested a design review committee be formed at each school.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the school’s multipurpose room, 2850 Club House Road in Costa Mesa.
Victoria Elementary School will hold its meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in its multipurpose room, 1025 Victoria St., Costa Mesa. The last meeting scheduled is for Andersen Elementary School. It will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 also in the school’s multipurpose room, 1900 Port Seabourne Way, Newport Beach.
The Nov. 20 meeting will include discussion of a consistent visitor screening process.
