Women’s basketball: OCC falls to Apaches
CHULA VISTA - The Orange Coast College women’s basketball team
rallied valiantly in the second half, but a 24-6 deficit proved too much
to overcome in a 62-57 nonconference road loss to Southwestern Tuesday.
Nadia Mojica led the spirited comeback with 16 point and 13 rebounds
for the Pirates (2-3), who whittled the lead to three in the waning
moments, but could get no closer.
Newport Harbor High product Kristen Urban had a game-high 17 points
and Karyn Fierst added 14 for OCC, which hosts Victor Valley Saturday at
2 p.m.
Southwestern improved to 3-1.
