For the second consecutive year, a Costa-Mesa based Christian liberal

arts university has been rated among “America’s Best Colleges” in a study

by U.S. News and World Report.

Vanguard University of Southern California was rated a 3.1, with 5.0

being the highest, in the magazine’s 2000-01 study of the nation’s

universities.

The school was rated a notch higher than other Southern California

campuses, including Chapman University (3.0), Pepperdine University (3.0)

and Cal State Fullerton (2.9).

The survey also cited Vanguard University’s student-to-faculty

classroom ratio of 16-1, among the lowest on the West Coast.

OCC helps with career changes

Orange Coast College’s Re-entry Center assists people who want to

return to school after a break in their academic careers.

It also helps people making career changes and those looking to

acquire new job skills.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 10

a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Room 106 of the college’s

Counseling and Admissions Building, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.
