Girls basketball: CdM takes care of Canyon
ANAHEIM - The Corona del Mar High girls basketball team took care
of host Canyon, 51-24, Wednesday night in nonleague action.
Senior Kristin McCoy scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to
lead the Sea Kings (5-9) Courtney Kawata chipped in with 10.
The elder McCoy played her second game of the season after recovering
from a bruised kidney. Junior Carrie Hawkins also returned to the CdM
lineup after missing the past seven games with a fractured wrist.
While Hawkins and McCoy have returned, the Sea Kings will be without
the services of Lauren Snell, who is out with a high ankle sprain.
The Sea Kings will host El Toro Saturday at 6 p.m. before opening
