The Christophe Salon has declared Monday as National Blonde Day. The

salon at Fashion Island in Newport Beach is honoring the day by offering

free coloring services to anyone who wants to become blonde from 11 a.m.

to 3 p.m.

“We support this holiday because everyone has the right to be blonde,”

says Christophe Schattemann, owner of Christophe. “Some people have more

fun as blondes, feel more sexy and confident or just simply like the

look. We respect that and encourage people to try blonde on for size. Our

expert team of colorists in Fashion Island can give everyone a shade of

blonde that’s right for them.”

Christophe Salon in Fashion Island opened in 1999, and employs a team

of internationally trained technicians, cosmetologists and stylists. The

services offered at Christophe vary from haircuts and color treatments to

seaweed wraps and deep oil massages. The salon also offers aromatherapy,

hair and scalp treatments, and cosmetic services. If you’re interested in

becoming blonde, you can call (949) 219-0920 to schedule an appointment.

Color appointments are subject to availability and because chemical

processes are involved, Christophe Salon retains the right to refuse

color service on the grounds of appropriateness and hair health.

Christophe Salon is located at 315 Newport Center Drive. It’s open seven

days a week.

Jacques Speicher and Joe Corso, the owners of Les Alpilles de Provence

say that since the American dollar is doing so well against the French

franc, they’re now paying less for imported fabrics and table linens.

“We are passing those savings on to our customers,” says Speicher.

“All of our yardage and most of our tablecloths have been reduced.

Yardage has come down 25%, so our Provencal prints, which were selling

for $29 per yard, are now $21.75 per yard.”

Most of the tablecloths have been reduced by $10, a 70-inch round

tablecloth that was $75 is now $65. The prices should remain the same

through summer. Les Alpilles is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to

6 p.m. It’s located at 211 Marine Avenue on Balboa Island. Information:
