25 YEARS AND COUNTING

A NEW MISSION

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will present a week of talks at

‘THE LAST DAYS’

The Young Business and Professionals of the Jewish Federation will

present “The Last Days” at 4:30 p.m. July 22. The film, which won the

1998 Academy Award for best documentary, chronicles the experiences of

five Hungarians who survived the Holocaust. Renee Firestone, one of the

PEACE WALK

Local community and faith-based organizations will gather Sept. 22 for

the eighth annual Orange County Peace Walk/Peace Jam 2001 at Triangle

Square. The free event will start at 11:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. There

will be musicians, an organized walk on the streets around Triangle

Square, displays, raffles and more in celebration of the United Nations’

International Day of Peace. Triangle Square is at Harbor and Newport

‘SPEAKING OF SIN’

The Dead Theologian Society of St. Michael and All Angels will meet at

A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

A 26-lesson study on the life of Jesus Christ titled “Journey to the

MEDITATION LESSONS

A “lectio divina” meditation group meeting will be held at 7:10 a.m.

Tuesdays starting July 10 at Our Lady Queen of Angels, 2046 Mar Vista

Drive, Newport Beach. Lectio is a style of meditation that includes using

Scripture or a special reading as a stimulus. Free. The Christian
