Marine biologists at the marine studies center on Shellmaker Island
are holding a naming contest today for two baby stingrays born in an
aquarium at the center.
The rays, born Thursday, will be released into Upper Newport Bay after
they are named.
Members of the public will be able to view and submit ideas for naming
the rays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
Winners of the contest will receive two free children’s dinners at El
Ranchito Restaurant in Corona del Mar.
