WEATHER FORECAST

There’s a slight chance of early morning showers today, but for the

most part it’ll just be a partly cloudy sky, so dust off those

sunglasses. Highs today will be in the low 60s in Newport-Mesa, while the

lows will dip into the 40s.

Look for much of the same Saturday and await two more storms Monday

and Wednesday. Until then, stay dry.

BOATING FORECAST

The northwesterly winds will blow 10 to 15 knots throughout the day in

the inner waters, with 1- to 2-foot waves and a west swell of 5 to 7

feet.

Out farther, the northerly winds will blow 15 knots in the afternoon

but will become northwesterly later, blowing 10 to 20 knots with waves of

2 to 3 feet and a swell of 11 to 14 feet.

SURF

Waves in the chest- to head-high region will arrive today, thanks to a

new northwest swell. The conditions should continue into Saturday but

will decrease come Sunday into the waist- to shoulder-high range. As

always after a rainstorm, urban runoff can pose health risks.
