The Philharmonic Society of Orange County will dedicate the Vienna

Philharmonic concert, to be held in March, to Dean P. Corey, the father

of executive director Dean Corey.

The senior Corey, a music educator, died in Arlington, Texas in

September. He worked for 23 years as Arlington High School’s band

director and as the district’s first coordinator of music education for

eight years.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Philharmonic Society’s

Tribute Fund. People who want to donate can contribute funds in Corey’s

name.

Pottery sale to be held at OCC

Orange Coast College’s ceramics class will hold its 25th annual

Christmas Art Pottery Sale on campus Dec. 7 and 8.

Students will sell their creations at OCC’s Ceramics Room from 9 a.m.

to 6 p.m. in the college’s Art Annex Building. The sale will offer

functional and decorative pottery.

A portion of the proceeds will help the college’s Ceramics Club buy

equipment. Funds will also be donated to the American Red Cross to help

people in New York City.
