SATURDAY

The Laguna Canyon Foundation in cooperation with Harbors, Beaches &

Parks of Orange County, Laguna Greenbelt, Inc., and The Nature

Conservancy invites everyone to Hike & Help, a day of guided hikes and

the opportunity to help restore native plantings to the Laguna Wilderness

Park. A three-mile loop hike of Laurel Canyon will begin at 8 a.m. and a

six-mile hike from Laurel Canyon to Little Sycamore Canyon at 9 a.m. To

help with native plantings, trail and other restoration activities from 8

to 11:30 a.m. meet at the park entrance. Bring shovel and gloves and wear

sturdy shoes. The event will take place on May 11. Hikers can park at

the ACT V, 1900 Laguna Canyon Road and ride the shuttle bus for 3-4 mile

hike on the new land gift at 8:30 a.m. and a six-mile Little Sycamore

Laguna South Coast Cinemas will announce the screening of the film

“Sordid Lives,” the story of a family in a small Texas town preparing for

the funeral of the mother. The film will show at 11 a.m., May 11 and 12,

Nancy Milby the executive director of Laguna Culinary Arts will hold

Richard Macdonald Fine Art premiers Blanc/Noir Exhibition by artist

Richard Macdonald. The collection will feature one-of-a-kind sculptures

and drawings, including the premier of a new sculpture series inspired by

Cirque du Soleil and acclaimed Flamenco Dancer, Jordi Caballero. Richard

MacDonald will be the guest of honor at a reception from 7 to 10 p.m.,
