Baseball camp teaches players the fundamentals of baseball including
hitting, throwing, base running, sliding, infield and outfield play and
game situations. Registration is $100 person and $60 for each additional
family member. Session for players ages 7 to 10 begins June 24; ages 10
to 13, July 8; and ages 7 to 13 combined, July 15. Information: Laguna

Basketball camps will be offered for boys and girls. The camp is
designed to help players learn from practice and competition in sessions
that teach teamwork and sportsmanship. Separate sessions for incoming
second- through sixth-graders and incoming fifth- through eighth-graders
begin July 29. Registration is $160 per person and $80 for each
additional family member.
Cheerleading camp is a program for students to learn cheers, jumps and
a dance routine. Separate sessions for children ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 13

Kyne Dance Academy of Laguna Beach will present summer dance workshops
that provide solid dance training for students starting at age 5.

Laguna Beach Junior Lifeguards not only help students develop a sense
of teamwork, sportsmanship and confidence, but also a better appreciation
of the hazards and opportunities in the marine environment. Prospective
students must pass a swim test scheduled for June 1, 15 and July 9 and
16. The first sessions for juniors and teenagers will begin June 24.

The Laguna Playhouse Summer Institute will present Summer Starts 2002.
Children can spend part of the summer strutting their stuff on the
boards. A Creative Drama and Movement workshop will be offered for
students ages 6 to 8, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, July 8 through Aug. 1. The
final project will be presented on the last day of class.
A second workshop, Kids on Broadway, is geared for students ages 9 to
13. This class will meet from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday and
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, July 8 through Aug. 5. The
final performances will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., Aug. 5.

Little Mermaids and Sea Cubs is a special program for children ages 6
through 9. They will be briefed on beach and ocean safety, explore tide
pools, and learn about sea creatures. The first session will begin June

Miss Linda’s Castle is a place where students can dance, sing and have
fun. Classes will include pre-ballet, combo tap, ballet and jazz, musical

No Square Theatre will host workshops on musical performance, creative
theatre and performance, jazz singing, vocal improvisation and vocal
audition for the musical theatre. Class sizes are limited and filled on a

At the Laguna Club For Kids, campers ages 5 to 12 can engage in arts,

Surf School students can sign up for weeklong surfing and
ocean-awareness programs. Children at least 10-years old can learn the
fundamentals of surfing and marine safety. Registration is $500 per

Tennis lessons for youth and teens will be offered throughout the

United Methodist Church will hold a vacation bible school, “Good’s
Great Gallery: Exploring God’s Wonderful Works.” This multi-generational
program for both children ages 4 to 11 and adults, will provide an
opportunity to explore and expand creativity through various experiences.
The kick-off starts at 6 p.m., Aug. 18. Registration begins June 2.
