Relay for Life raises $30,000
The second annual Laguna Beach Relay for Life raised $30,000 for
programs, services and research for the American Cancer Society.
Eighteen teams participated in the 24-hour event that was held at
Laguna Beach High School on June 8.
South Coast Medical Center and Bank of America were major sponsors.
Verizon, UPS Laguna Beach Rotary, Coldwell Banker, Laguna Beach Physical
Therapy, Nathan’s Night Owls, Laguna Hills High School long distance
track team, the Cat in the Hat team from Laguna Beach Congregational
Church and the Vegas Girls team all participated.
Committee members were Anne Morris and Freda Freeman, co-chairs, Roya
Abassi, Donna Gress, Noel Johnson, Aimee Lynch, Bonnie Macmillan, Whitney
Sigala, Michelle Struss, Jojo Sinclair and Annie Stoeckman and Anne Wood.
Morris, whose mother passed away prior to the event, asked that in
lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Relay for Life: American Cancer
Society, 1940 Deere Ave. Suite 100, Santa Ana 92705.
