JERRY SEINFELD

The man who co-created and starred in the show about nothing will

bring his sensibilities to the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

That’s right. Jerry Seinfeld will perform two shows on Friday night

featuring new material.

Seinfeld helped introduce the world to the phrases “yada, yada, yada,”

“close-talker,” “soup Nazi” and more in his self-named television show.

The show ran from 1989 to 1998 on NBC and can now be found in

syndication. In 1993, it won an Emmy Award for best television series,

comedy or musical.

This is Seinfeld’s only scheduled Southern California appearance. A

native New Yorker, Seinfeld once told Rolling Stone magazine that “After

a while in Los Angeles, you’re not going to be funny anymore. I feel like

I have a certain amount of oxygen left from being out here, and

eventually, I won’t be funny. It just slowly ebbs away, because the

environment is very unfunny.”

Let’s hope he finds Orange County a little more comical.
