Sage Hill extends solid foe
Sage Hill High’s boys basketball team dropped a second-round game
at the La Jolla Tournament Thursday night, but Coach Steve Keith came
away feeling good about his team’s effort.
“We were near-breaking and we cut it to single digits several
times,” said Keith in the wake of a 73-62 loss to a solid Santa Fe
Christian team.
“We grew a lot tonight.”
Michael Fitzhugh led the Lightning with 34 points and Kevin Joyce
added 18 points for Sage Hill, but the winning Eagles poured in nine
three-point shots, including six in the first half when they put
together a 41-28 lead.
Sage Hill continues in the 20-team tournament today.
