Estancia High senior Jason Cassidy shot par 70 Tuesday and, with a

two-day total of 138, won the Golden West League individual boys golf

championship at the Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.

Cassidy, whose previous best finish in three Pacific Coast League

finals was sixth, finished seven shots better than Estancia freshman

Marcus Sostak. Cassidy and Sostak are among the league’s four players

to advance to the CIF Southern Section individual regionals,

scheduled May 20 at Black Gold Golf Course in Yorba Linda.

Sostak shot 78-77--145 to join Cassidy, as well as teammates Ryan

Brown (78-75--153 for fifth) and Greg Les (78-76--154 for sixth) as

first-team all-league honorees.

Jason Les, who did not play Tuesday due to advance-placement

testing, is second-team all-league.

Estancia, which claimed the Golden West League team title,

competes in a one-day Southern Section regional Tuesday at Los

Serranos Golf Course in Chino Hills, beginning at 7 a.m.
