WHAT HAPPENED:

The City Council reduced the amount of time that the online budget

survey will be available to the public.

WHAT IT MEANS:

On April 21, the council voted to put a survey residents via the

Internet as to what they feel are the most important budget items.

The council is now slicing more than three weeks off the survey’s

life span, since the budget process is moving faster this year than

last, Boardman said.

The survey, which is now available at www.surfcity-hb.org/survey,

will be accessible until June 2.

Residents can log on to city’s Web site to rank budget items in

order of importance.
