Sea Kings’ Long in showcase

Corona del Mar High senior shortstop Keith Long has been chosen to

represent the South in the Orange County All-Star Baseball Game,

scheduled June 9 at La Palma Park in Anaheim.

Long, a four-year varsity performer for the Sea Kings, has been an

offensive stalwart this season, helping Coach John Emme’s squad

clinch at least a share of the Pacific Coast League championship.

CdM (15-8, 10-3 in league) can wrap up the outright title with a

victory at Tesoro today, or a win over the Titans Thursday at home in

the regular-season finale.

Long’s contributions have helped the Sea Kings reach the CIF

Southern Section playoffs each of his first three seasons.

Long is the lone Newport-Mesa player in the game.

Billy Eagle represented CdM in the game last spring.
