Laguna Soccer holds tryout Tuesday

Laguna Beach Club Soccer will hold its second tryout session of

the summer on Tuesday at Moulton Meadows Park.

The tryout will run between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The club program is open to girls ages 9-14.

The first tryout was held on June 30 and coach Mike Thomas said

the club program is looking to expand for the upcoming season which

begins the first week in September.

“We’re looking to increase the profile of our program,” Thomas

said. “We’re really interested in targeting girls ages 13 and 14 to

get involved.

“Also, we’re looking to locate girls age 10 to get involved to

help form younger teams in our program.”

The club program will train throughout the remainder of the summer

and hold possible scrimmages and enter tournament play, Thomas said.

The program also is coached by Natalie Bolden.

Two AYSO soccer camps offered

Two upcoming soccer camps will be offered by AYSO for local boys

and girls ages 5 to 14.

The first of the two camps will be held July 28 to Aug. 1.

The second camp will run Aug. 25 to 29.

Both camps will be held at Alta Laguna Park.
