Bonnie Kay Carlson of Santa Monica and Andrew Barnard Solmssen of

Santa Monica exchanged wedding vows on May 17 in the garden of Mr.

and Mrs. Richard Holt in San Juan Capistrano.

The bride, daughter of the late John Carlson and Mrs. John Carlson

of Corona del Mar, wore an ivory, silk, Vera Wang gown. Her matron of

honor was Mrs. Kenneth Solomon, and her bridesmaids were Mrs.

Anabelle Avery, Mrs. Courtney Cooney, Miss Kate Corrigan, Miss. Paula

Edwards, Miss. Wendy Holt, Miss. Rebecca Kramer, Miss. Kate Solmssen

and Mrs. Amy Stone.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Solmssen of Summit,

N.J. His best man was Christopher Solmssen and his groomsmen were

Irving Angell III, Anthony Bugliari, Rand Carlson, Andrew Frank,

Clayton Hale III, Anthony Leness, Benjamin Levin, Todd Lewis and

Alexander Sacredote.

The bride is employed at the architecture firm of Deegan-Day

Designs. The bridegroom is employed in advertising and web design at

the Content Project.

The ceremony was followed by a reception of 150 guests in the

garden.

The couple is at home in Santa Monica after a wedding trip to

Bali.

announce the engagement of their daughter, Kassandra (Kassie) Nicole

Scherer, of Chicago, Ill., to Daniel (Dan) Tighe Houlihan of Chicago,

Ill.

The bride-elect graduated from the Latin School in Chicago and

Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She will begin her master’s program

in secondary education in Spanish at DePaul University this fall.

The bridegroom, son of James and Ann (Tighe) Houlihan of Chicago,

Ill., graduated from The Latin School in Chicago and Kenyon College

in Gambier, Ohio.

An August wedding is planned at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake

Forest, Ill.
