only managed one shot on goal. Much of the game was played in the

center of the field with neither team able to gain an advantage.

Tough-nosed defensive play by the Panthers’ Leah Castillo, Kira

Wandrocke and Tara Fuller kept the talented Watermelons on their

heals throughout the first quarter, but the Panthers were unable to

capitalize on an early-field advantage.

Leading Panther scorers Libby Knight and Bryn Crowell were unable

to get on track for much of the game. Knight had two fourth quarter

breakaways and just missed wide to the left on a shot with two

key for the Trojans in the second half as the team continued on its

successful campaign.

* Predators vs. Steelers

unable to penetrate a stingy Predator defense that had allowed only

two goals in the last five games. The deadlock was broken just before

halftime when goal-scoring wizard, Dillon Murphy, latched on to a

pass from the right to slam the ball low into the net.

The Steelers almost equalized soon after the start of the second

half when their skillful center forward slid the ball past the

Predator goalie, Charlie Stassel, only to see Stassel chase back and

smother the ball right on the goal line.

This was the last real chance The Steelers had as The Predators

applied continual pressure, and after seeing his close-range shot fly

off the post, Murphy gathered the rebound and buried it in the net.

the opponent’s goal from the left side of the penalty area.
