TLC uses late rally to pull out 3-1 win
A second half comeback was all TLC needed to pull out a victory in
girls’ AYSO Region 55 under-12 Division play.
With Emily Locken scoring twice in the final half, TLC rallied to
defeat the HB Highlighters, 3-1.
A defensive struggle ensured in the first half of play, with the
lone score of the half coming from Highlighter defender Nicole
Giambone.
Helping protect the 1-0 halftime lead was the play of Jessica
Eggebrecht, Allison McCaughtry, Kristin Nance, Sloan Turner, Spencer
Wayne and keeper Izzy Zamora.
One of Locken’s two second half goals was set up by a Sara Weisman
assist.
Lindsay Fay scored the final goal.
TLC defensive players Hannah Bartle, Sara Christie, Katherine
Hopfensberger, Cara Norton, Amanda Peterson, Michelle Roe and keeper
Ellie Morrissey kept the Highlighters out of the net in the second
half.

Under-10 Division
Hot Shots 4, Double Trouble 3
A frantic fourth quarter finish by both teams resulted in the Hot
Shots coming out on top by a single goal.
The teams were tied at the half, 1-1, with the Hot Shots getting a
goal from Katie Gainous, only to be answered by a Double Trouble’s
Janae Phariss.
Hot Shot players Julia Hiserodt and Danielle Kutinsky used tricky
moves to send the ball up field to Simone Corkett in the third
quarter, her pass feeding Grace Khoury for the go-ahead goal.
The teams alternated scoring four goals in the fourth quarter.
Miklah Morell scored twice in the quarter for Double Trouble.
