El Morro’s ‘Boo Blast’ today
El Morro Elementary School’s annual Boo Blast, a tradition since
the ‘50s, will take place from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. today.
This year will feature a new Ferris wheel ride, train, spinning
cups, Carl’s Junior food truck, Haunted Surf Shack and some of the
old favorites. There is no entry fee and tickets for the rides and
games can be purchased at the event. Proceeds from the Boo Blast help
fund PTA sponsored student programs at El Morro.
Free parking is at Crystal Cove State Park with shuttles running
continuously. El Morro is at 8681 N. Coast Highway. For information,

SchoolPower Golf Tournament Monday
The 12th annual SchoolPower Golf Tournament at Coto de Caza Golf
Club will be on Monday. More than 200 golfers are expected to tee off
at the “SchoolPower Got Beach Classic.” Organizers said registration
fees and donations are likely to exceed the $100,000 goal of this
event, with 90% of the proceeds going to Laguna Beach schools and the
remaining 10% going directly to the athletic department.
New this year David Ogron, who holds three Guinness golf world
records, will be doing a hit-a-thon to raise money.
Coffee Break speech re-cap
Internationally renowned parenting expert and best-selling author
Nancy Samalin was the guest speaker at the Oct. 20 Coffee Break.
With a standing-room-only crowd, Samalin gave tips from her new
bestseller “Loving without Spoiling.” She reviewed some of the 100
tips on setting limits, identified the top 10 spoiling traps and
educated on how to overcome the problems.

Next Coffee Break is Nov. 17
The next Coffee Break will be from 8:15 to 10 a.m. Nov. 17 at the
Surf and Sand Hotel, 1555 S. Coast Highway.
The meeting will feature nationally renowned parent educator Sandy
Spurgeon McDaniel. She will discuss the “Three ‘Rs’ of parenting:
raising responsible, respectful and resilient kids.”
High school annual Holiday Boutique set
Laguna Beach High School will hold its annual Holiday Boutique
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 4.
A plethora of gifts from many vendors will be sold as a fundraiser
