BRIEFLY IN THE NEWS:Visiting chefs at Cannery
The Cannery’s executive chef Felix Salcedo will share his kitchen tonight with Los Angeles chef Joseph Rivas, who will bring the Southwestern cuisine of Sonora Café to Newport Beach.
The Cannery, which announced its second annual Meet the Chef series Monday, will welcome six Los Angeles-based chefs to the restaurant over the next six months, offering a variety of new tastes and saving diners plenty of gas money.
In addition to the usual menu, tonight’s offering will include Santa Fe black bean soup, hand-picked blue crab enchilada, duck a la plancha, flan de crema, 24-carat margaritas and several other dishes.
