Orange Coast 9, Cypress 0CYPRESS — The Pirates dropped just three games in singles, as Giovanni Villacana, Pat Lam, Charlie Nguyen, Kevin Kordestani and Damien Liu easily won in OCC’s final Orange Empire Conference match of the season Wednesday.

Andy Ong also won in singles, but by default, as Cypress did not have a sixth singles player.

The Pirates (11-4, 6-4 in conference) will need to win their nonconference match at Cerritos today at 2 p.m. to have a chance to make the playoffs, Orange Coast College Coach Jeff Thomsen said.
