Paralympic working up funds for game trials
U.S. Paralympic team member Nick Scandone needs help to win the Paralympic Trials in the SKUD-18 class in Newport, R.I., in October, part of his quest to secure a berth to compete in the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Island Marine Fuel on Balboa Island will donate profits from its ValvTect fuel (both gas and diesel) sales from noon to 8 p.m. today to benefit Scandone’s campaign.
The ValvTect Island Marine fuel dock is next to the Balboa Island Ferry.
