Women’s financial conference set for Sept. 8

“Healthy, Wealthy and WISE” is the theme for this year’s Invest in Yourself Financial Strategies Conference for Women, sponsored by Women Investing in Security and Education (WISE).

Nineteen personal finance and investing workshops will be offered in four breakout sessions from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa Hotel, located at 3050 Bristol St.

New to the conference this year are four workshops on health.

Susan Samueli, co-founder of the Samueli Foundation, will receive the 2007 WISE Woman of the Year Award, and Janet Bodnar, senior editor at Kiplingers Magazine, will be one of the featured speakers.

Bodnar will also speak at a “Become Financially Fit” seminar for young women and girls aged 13 to 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Cost for the seminar is $20; scholarships are available from the Charles Schwab Foundation.
