Concordia 8, Vanguard 4

IRVINE — Junior first baseman Derek Craddock and sophomore center fielder Daniel Black each had a pair of hits for Vanguard in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Wednesday at Concordia.

Black added a double for the Lions (6-9, 2-7 in conference), who fell behind, 4-0, after three innings. Concordia’s defending GSAC Pitcher of the Year, Enrique Lechuga, allowed two earned runs in five innings for the Eagles (4-5, 3-4).

IRVINE — The Anteaters won five of six doubles matches in the nonconference home match Wednesday.

Senior Jessica Broadfoot swept at No. 4 singles and junior Ali Borowicz did the same at No. 6 singles to help No. 35-ranked UCI improve to 5-4. No. 51-ranked San Diego State fell to 5-4.
