UCI’s Henderson collects top Big West accolade

UC Irvine senior Selaneé Henderson was named Big West Conference Female Golfer of the Month for March.

During the month, Henderson won her sixth career tournament at the Spartan Invitational with a 54-hole total of 218. She won the Spartan title for the second consecutive year and became the only two-time winner of the event. It was the senior’s first win of the year.

Henderson also placed sixth at the Western Regional Preview at the Lincoln Hills Country Club. She carded a 220, shooting a 70 on the final round, the best score of the day. It was her third top-10 finish of the season.

It is the fifth time Henderson has earned Golfer of the Month distinction.

The Anteaters travel to the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford Friday and Saturday before competing in the Big West Championships April 21-22 at Tijeras Creek Country Club.
