SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Raiders were one for 14 from three-point range before making back-to-back three-pointers to turn a 52-48 lead into a 10-point cushion with 2:01 left in the opener of the round-robin Travelers Tip-Off Tournament Saturday at Missouri State University.

Senior Kevin Bland led the Anteaters (1-8) with 12 points and eight rebounds, while senior Brett Lauer had seven points and five assists.

Sophomore Patrick Rembert had 10 points off the bench for UCI, which continues tournament play today against Missouri State.

UCI made six of 11 three-point attempts (54.5%), but was 11 of 31 from two-point range (35.5%) and committed 20 turnovers.

Desmond “Boogie” Yates led Middle Tennessee (5-5) with 22 points on 11-of-15 field-goal shooting.
