HUNTINGTON BEACH HOST LIONS PRESENT BRAILLE WRITER TO BLIND 7th GRADE STUDENT
The Huntington Beach Host Lions Club showed their support of community youth by presenting 7th grade student Jake Olson a Perkins Braille Writer. The Club presented Olson with the unit on November 19 at its general meeting at Old World German Restaurant.
According to Lion Leonard Gleason, Club President, “Jake lost both of his eyes to cancer and is about to begin to learn Braille. Our club located a writer and our Board of Directors voted unanimously to purchase it for Jake.”
In addition to such donations, the club conducts a variety of projects and events, including (list projects).
The Huntington Beach Host Lions Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at Old World German Restaurant in Huntington Beach. Meetings begin at 7 PM. Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
