High School Roundup: Huntington Beach girls’ tennis routs Oaks Christian in CIF Division 1 opener

Solaya Han swept in singles as the Huntington Beach High girls’ tennis team beat Westlake Village Oaks Christian 16-2 in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs Wednesday at home.
The doubles teams of Sahiba Grewal and Hailey Petteys, as well as Isabella Moore and Sophie Jin-Ngo, won one set each. Tasmin Warner also won in singles.
Wave League champion Huntington Beach (17-4) hosts North Hills League champion Yorba Linda (23-2) in the second round on Friday at 2 p.m.
Laguna Beach 12, Long Beach Wilson 6: Ella Pachl, Sarah MacCallum and Katelyn Smith all swept in singles for the Breakers in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs Wednesday on the road.
Laguna Beach (9-8) hosts Woodbridge in the second round Friday at 2 p.m.
Los Alamitos 12, Sage Hill 6: The Lightning finished the season 13-7 after losing in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs Wednesday at home.
San Dimas 11, Costa Mesa 7: The Mustangs fell in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs Wednesday at home.
Orange Coast League champion Costa Mesa finished with a 9-9 record.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Riverside Poly 7, Laguna Beach 1: The Breakers saw their season end in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs Wednesday on the road.
Laguna Beach finished with a 15-13 record.
