Key Chargers: Sr. QB Griffin O’Connor (47 of 89 passing for 674 yards, five TDs and six INTs); Sr. WR David Atencio (18 catches for 391 yards and four TDs); Jr. LB Luke Hoggard (39 tackles, 1½ sacks)
Key Tritons: Jr. QB Brendan Costello (70 of 107 passing for 1,057 yards and 15 TDs); Sr. RB Austin Whitsett (72 carries for 464 yards and eight TDs); Sr. WR Keith Jones (17 catches for 211 yards and three TDs)
Breakdown: Edison (3-1) and San Clemente (5-0) face each other for the first time since the Tritons edged the Chargers 39-35 to reach the CIF State Division 1-A Bowl Game last December … Chargers, ranked No. 4 in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll, are coming off a bye … Tritons are looking to win their first six games for the first time since 2011, when they went on to reach the final in the section’s top playoff division … Edison plays its last nonleague game before opening its Sunset League title defense against Huntington Beach on Oct. 5 … San Clemente has a bye next week and then it starts South Coast League play at home against Tesoro on Oct. 13.
