Glendale police arrest man after he allegedly fled traffic stop, carjacked UPS truck
Police nabbed an armed carjacking suspect who reportedly jumped into a UPS truck after running away from an officer during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a car with three men inside pulled into the parking lot at Rally’s restaurant, 1801 S. Brand Blvd., during the stop, after which one of them fled on foot, said Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

The officer broadcast a description of the man, as well as the direction he was running, and another officer in the area spotted him.
Police chased him as he ran in and out of a body shop, hopped a fence and jumped into the UPS truck.
“Go, go, go, I got a shank,” he told the driver, according to police.
The truck driver drove a short distance before stopping the vehicle and jumping out. At that point, police caught up with the suspect and used a Taser on him.
Officers subsequently discovered a loaded revolver in the man’s front pocket.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was taken into custody. Information about the other two men in the car was not immediately available.
