Odysseo due back in Irvine for the holidays
The international entertainment company Cavalia has announced that, because of demand, it will return to Orange County two weeks earlier than originally planned with its latest production of Odysseo, a $30-million theatrical experience that marries the equestrian arts, stage arts and high-tech theatrical effects.
Odysseo, where the interactions between human and horse are at the heart of the action, will again be located under a big white tent at the 405 Freeway and route 133 in Irvine. It will run from Nov. 16 to Jan. 8.
A news release describes the 65 horses and 48 riders, acrobats, dancers and musicians as participants in a larger-than-life show.
This celebration of horse and man, it added, was imagined by Normand Latourelle, one of the co-founders of Cirque du Soleil, and had its world premiere in Montreal in 2011.
Tickets, priced from $29.50 to $144.50 plus taxes and fees, are now on sale at cavalia.net or by calling (866) 999-8111.
The VIP package offers the best seats in the house, buffet dining before the show, open bar, desserts during intermission and an exclusive visit to the stables after the show at prices ranging from $149.50 to $254.50, plus taxes and fees.
