ON THE MOUND: Dan Haren allowed only two baserunners in seven innings. He walked David Murphy and gave up an infield hit to Michael Bourn in the third inning, but nothing else. “That’s the best I’ve thrown the ball this year,” said Haren, who is unbeaten in his last five starts. The game was the 34th in a row in which the Dodgers’ starting pitcher walked two or fewer batters, the longest such streak in the National League since at least 1914, according to Stats LLC. For Haren, this marked the first time this season that he didn’t give up any runs and the first time since May 12 he pitched seven innings.

AT THE PLATE: With the game scoreless, Andre Ethier led off the seventh inning with a triple. Juan Uribe and A.J. Ellis failed to drive him in, after which Hanley Ramirez pinch-hit for Miguel Rojas. The Indians elected to intentionally walk Ramirez and pitch to 29-year-old rookie Clint Robinson, who responded by driving in the go-ahead run off Corey Kluber. The hit was the last of only six for the Dodgers. Before Robinson’s hit, their best chance to score came in the fourth inning, when they had runners on second and third base. However, Ethier struck out and Uribe flied out to center field.

IN THE FRONT OFFICE: Scouting director Logan White was interviewed by the San Diego Padres for their vacant general manager’s position. White, who is in his 13th season with the Dodgers, was instrumental in the drafting of Clayton Kershaw and Matt Kemp, as well as the signings of Yasiel Puig and Hyun-Jin Ryu. He was previously a general manager candidate with the Houston Astros, New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks.
