Dodgers make Miami’s Dan Haren pay in return to Dodger Stadium

KEY MOMENT: The Dodgers broke the game open with a four-run fifth inning that increased their lead to 6-1. Jimmy Rollins led off the inning with a popup single and advanced to second base on a wild pitch by Dan Haren. With one out and Rollins at third, Adrian Gonzalez was struck by a pitch to put runners at the corners. Alex Guerrero doubled in Rollins, after which Yasmani Grandal singled in Gonzalez and Guerrero. Left-hander Brad Hand replaced Haren with runners on first and second base, and promptly gave up a run-scoring single to Scott Van Slyke.

ON THE MOUND: Mike Bolsinger threw a pitch that Giancarlo Stanton hit out of Dodger Stadium, but was otherwise solid. Bolsinger, who was promoted from triple-A Oklahoma City earlier in the day, pitched 5 2/3 innings and was charged with one run and five hits. He struck out three. Paco Rodriguez recorded the final out of the sixth inning. Sergio Santos pitched the seventh inning, Juan Nicascio the eighth and J.P. Howell the ninth.

AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers collected a season-high 21 hits. Howie Kendrick hit a home run in the third inning and Andre Ethier hit one in the fourth. Ethier had five hits, which tied a career high. Kendrick had four hits. Guerrero and Van Slyke each had three. Haren, whom the Dodgers traded to the Marlins over the off-season, lasted only 41/3 innings and was charged with six runs.

EXTRA BASES: Bolsinger replaced outfielder Chris Heisey on the active roster. Heisey was optioned to Oklahoma City late Monday night.
