Mike McNeely, who played baseball at Crenshaw High and Cal State Northridge, has been hired as the baseball coach at Taft, replacing Lee Ellis, who resigned.
McNeely, 39, was Taft’s junior varsity coach last season. He previously has worked as an assistant at Crenshaw, Harvard-Westlake and Granada Hills.
He was a shortstop at Crenshaw and a center fielder at Northridge, where he played in 1997 and 1998.
