Baseball: Redondo scores three in seventh to reach Division 3 final

Sean Reynolds sure wanted to pitch in the Southern Section Division 3 final. He took it upon himself to hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to cap a three-run outburst, then took the mound and got the save to help top-seeded Redondo defeat Beckman, 5-2, in a semifinal game on Tuesday.

Reynolds will get his chance to end his high school career int he Division 3 final on Saturday at San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino. He’ll face Woodbridge, a 1-0 win over Palm Desert on a two-hit shutout from Zak Baayoun. Ryan Santa Cruz drove in the game’s only run.

In Division 2, South Hills defeated Damien, 4-1, and will play Redlands East Valley, a 2-1 winner over Dos Pueblos.

In Division 4, Laguna Beach got a bases loaded walk to defeat St. Bonaventure, 5-4, in nine innings. Kaiser defeated Montebello, 11-1.

In Division 5, Cantwell-Sacred Heart received a home run from Daniel Ordonez in defeating Citrus Hill, 4-1. Woodcrest Christian defeated Tahquitz, 2-1.
