Boys’ basketball: Eagle Rock upsets No. 2-seeded North Hollywood in City Section Division II
Eagle Rock Coach Christian Dunbar knows how to pull off upsets.
His team went into North Hollywood High School and knocked off the No. 2-seeded Huskies, 48-40, in a quarterfinal game of the City Section Division II playoffs on Wednesday night.
Ross Tiglao led Eagle Rock with 18 points. Eagle Rock will play Bernstein in the semifinals. Bernstein defeated Kennnedy, 77-70.
Sean Fernandez, the North Hollywood standout guard, was limited to 23 points.
South Gate will play Venice in the other semifinal. South Gate defeated Marshall, 62-49. Jose Velasquez led South Gate with 21 points. Venice defeated Animo South L.A., 71-59.
