Football: Locke ends season; team suspended for 2017
Locke High has ended its season prematurely for the second consecutive season, resulting in its team’s suspension for the 2017 season, City Section Commissioner John Aguirre said Friday.
Locke, 1-7, was scheduled to play Los Angeles on Friday in a Coliseum League game and Dorsey next week. Both games have become forfeits.
Aguirre said Locke can appeal its suspension for the 2017 season.
Dorsey defeated Manual Arts, 62-0, on Friday and will finish the season at 7-3.
Aguirre also confirmed that South Gate is appealing its ban from this year’s Division 1 playoffs after having ineligible players for the second time in three years. A decision will be announced next week.
