Football: Looking back at Crespi-Notre Dame dramatic finishes
Let’s go back in time and remember the sometimes crazy, always dramatic endings the last four seasons for the Crespi-Notre Dame game since the two teams are set to play again on Friday night at Crespi.
Each time, the game has not been decided until the final seconds.
In 2009, Notre Dame’s Eric Solis made a 51-yard field goal with one second left to give the Knights a 23-21 victory. Here’s the video highlight.
In 2010, there was the miracle lateral play (see above) and missed tackles on the final play that enabled the Celts to win, 34-28.
In 2011, there was Tyler Foreman knocking down a fourth-down pass with less than a minute to play to seal Crespi’s 28-26 victory. Here’s the highlights.
Last season, it took four overtimes before Notre Dame defeated Crespi, 40-34. Here’s the highlights.
You just can’t make up this stuff.
