Football: South Gate forfeits more games because of ineligible player
City Section Division II title favorite South Gate has been forced to forfeit three victories after discovering that a transfer student was ineligible, Coach Jose Casagran said.
The Rams will forfeit games to Westchester, Eagle Rock and Huntington Park. South Gate is 5-4 this season, with three of the four losses forfeits. The player also played against Garfield, though the Rams lost.
The player was a transfer from L.A. Jordan who supposedly didn’t play last season. But Casagran and the City Section were presented evidence that the player appeared briefly for Jordan.
