Football: Terrell Newby vs. Brad Kaaya has Chaminade fans excited
It’s the game circled on the calendar for Chaminade fans: Saturday’s college football game between Miami and host Nebraska at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
Miami’s freshman quarterback, Brad Kaaya, used to hand off the ball and pass to Nebraska running back Terrell Newby when the two played together at West Hills Chaminade. Add Miami kicker Matt Goudis and Chaminade fans have three to cheer for.
Former Chaminade Principal Brother Tom Fahey and former Chaminade President Jim Adams are flying to Lincoln for the game.
As for who he’s cheering for, Chaminade Coach Ed Croson said, “I’m rooting for a high scoring game with no turnovers and final score, 54-52, Miami.”
“It’s a neat game for the whole school,” Croson added.
Croson probably won’t have time to watch the game live. He’ll be studying film of Loyola, Chaminade’s next opponent.
