Girls’ basketball: Chelsey Gipson is ready to lead Palisades
There’s no doubt which team is favored to win the City Section Open Division girls’ basketball championship.
That would be defending champion Palisades, led by the reigning City player of the year, senior guard Chelsey Gipson, a Loyola Marymount signee.
Also back for the Dolphins is All-City guard Chaniya Pickett and sophomore Kayla Williams.
Joining the Dolphins is freshman Jane Nwaba, sister of former L.A. University standout David Nwaba.
Coach Torino Johnson has put together his usual tough schedule to challenge his team.
The Dolphins have speed and terrific guards.
