LAUSD cancels outdoor activities in the San Fernando Valley except for football games
The Los Angeles Unified School District has canceled all outdoor activities and sports practices for Thursday and Friday in the San Fernando Valley because of a hazardous heat warning, but football games scheduled for after 7 p.m. will be allowed, according to an official in the district’s athletics office.
Junior varsity football games will have to be canceled, because they are scheduled to be played prior to the 7 p.m. start times for varsity games.
Triple-digit temperatures are expected this weekend in the San Fernando Valley.
