Football: LB Poly kicks off season against Crenshaw

Crenshaw and Long Beach Poly kick off the 2013 season tonight at Veterans Stadium and both programs want to establish themselves as championship contenders once again.

Poly started 1-3 last year before rebounding to win the Southern Section Pac-5 crown and reach the CIF Division I state bowl game. The Jackrabbits’ key returners include quarterback Tai Tiedemann, receivers Elijah Moody and John Smith and running back Caleb Turner.

The Cougars were L.A. City Section Division I finalists last fall and are led by All-City quarterback Ajene Harris and running back Trevion Thomas. The game will begin shortly so stay logged on for updates.
