Green Bay Packers’ Bryan Bulaga may miss season
The Green Bay Packers might be forced to shuffle their renovated offensive line after starting left tackle Bryan Bulaga reportedly suffered a season-ending knee injury during a weekend scrimmage.
Only three months ago, Coach Mike McCarthy moved Bulaga from right tackle to left tackle, Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton from right guard to left guard, T.J. Lang from left guard to right guard and Marshall Newhouse, who started 28 games the last two seasons at left tackle, to right tackle.
McCarthy has said he moved Sitton to left guard to put the team’s two best offensive linemen together on the same side of the line, protecting quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ blind side. Sitton and Bulaga had also played next to each other since the 2010 season.
All that may be up the air now: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, citing an unidentified person, reported that Bulaga tore an anterior cruciate ligament and will sit out the season. The Packers canceled practice Monday and no one from the team was available to comment.

Baltimore Ravens tight end Ed Dickson has a slight tear in his hamstring and will be sidelined for at least a week.
Coach John Harbaugh said that Dickson is expected back by the first week of the regular season.
The Ravens are already thin at the tight end position after losing Dennis Pitta to a season-ending hip injury earlier in training camp.

Indianapolis Colts receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey watched Monday’s afternoon practice from the side of the field.
The team said it doesn’t believe his sprained left knee will keep him out long, though it has not put a time on his return.
Heyward-Bey was not on crutches and did not need help getting around. Afterward, team spokesman Avis Roper said the knee injury was “not serious.”

Oakland Raiders first-round draft pick D.J. Hayden will not play in Friday’s exhibition opener against Dallas.
Hayden suffered a slight hamstring pull in training camp on Monday, but Oakland Coach Dennis Allen said the decision to hold the rookie cornerback out was related to Hayden’s recovery from off-season abdominal surgery.

Louisiana State’s Hill reinstated, avoids jail
Louisiana State Coach Les Miles said running back Jeremy Hill has been reinstated and may practice immediately.
Miles said Hill will face further punishment from coaches, which will be “handled internally,” leaving open the possibility that Hill could be forced to sit out some games. However, Miles declined to specify how many games, if any, Hill might have to miss, adding that Hill already has been punished substantially during his more than three-month suspension.
Miles’ decision came hours after a judge decided not to send Hill to jail over a probation violation stemming from a punch he threw outside a bar in late April.
