76ers improve to 3-0 with win over Bulls

Rookie Michael Carter-Williams had 26 points and 10 assists and Spencer Hawes added 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers continued their stunning start to the season, beating the Chicago Bulls, 107-104, at Philadelphia on Saturday night.

Pegged to be one of the league’s worst teams, the 76ers (3-0) have opened the season with wins over Chicago, Washington and two-time defending champion Miami.

Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 22 points and 10 rebounds and Luol Deng had 20 points.

After trailing by 18 points in the second half, Philadelphia took a 100-99 lead with 3 minutes 29 seconds left when Carter-Williams picked up a loose ball and calmly laid it in.

Houston 104, at Utah 93: Chandler Parsons scored 24 points and James Harden had 23 to help the Rockets rally at Salt Lake City from a 19-point deficit for a victory that kept the Jazz winless and Houston undefeated. The Rockets outscored the Jazz 64-37 in the second half.

at Portland 115, San Antonio 105: The Trail Blazers’ home-opening win was fueled in part by Damian Lillard’s 25 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Tim Duncan, who sat out the Spurs’ win Friday night against the Lakers after bruising his chest, had 24 points

at Golden State 98, Sacramento 87: Klay Thompson scored 27 points at Oakland, Stephen Curry had five three-pointers among his 22 points, and the Warriors limited the Kings to 34.5% shooting.

at Dallas 111, Memphis 99: Dirk Nowitzki scored 24 points to lead the Mavericks’ balanced offense. Shawn Marion had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds for Dallas, while Monta Ellis had 18 points. Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 24 points, while Marc Gasol scored 23 and Zach Randolph had 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Toronto 97, at Milwaukee 90: Rudy Gay had 18 points and 15 rebounds, DeMar DeRozan added 17 points, and the Raptors spoiled the Bucks’ home opener. Toronto lost a 12-point lead, but DeRozan’s step-back jumper put the Raptors back up 89-85 with four minutes left.

at Indianapolis 89, Cleveland 74: The Pacers remained unbeaten as Lance Stephenson had 22 points, including 10 in a 14-4 run midway through the fourth quarter.

at New Orleans 105, Charlotte 84: Anthony Davis had 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists and the Pelicans earned their first win since changing their name from the Hornets. They set a franchise record with 18 blocked shots.
