Deion Sanders tweets wife assaulted him in front of their kids
Deion Sanders’ estranged wife was arrested Monday on suspicion of assault while the former NFL star claimed via Twitter that she had broken into his room and attacked him as their children watched.
“Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She’s going to jail n I’m pressing charges!” Sanders tweeted Monday afternoon.
Pilar Sanders was booked into the Collin County (Texas) Jail on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. Jail records do not give details on the alleged attack, including whether anyone else had been arrested, and police from the town of Prosper declined to discuss the case Tuesday.
Sanders, a Hall of Fame cornerback who is now an analyst for the NFL Network, filed for divorce from his wife back in December. She sued Sanders for $200 million in March on claims that he and his adult daughter from a previous marriage had posted libelous and slanderous statements about her.
According to Yahoo Sports, Sanders went on to post a photo of himself and his sons filling out a police report against the boys’ mother, along with the message: “I’m sad my boys witnessed this mess but I warned the police department here that she was gone try n harm me and my boys. This is on my mama.”
Yahoo Sports posted a screenshot of the photo and the second message, both of which apparently have been deleted from Sanders’ Twitter feed.
